Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the frequently asked questions we receive. If your question isn't listed, please feel free to contact us for the answer.

1. Which areas do you cover?

We cover the entire Doncaster area and surrounding regions. Please contact us for specific location inquiries.

2. What can I put in the skip?

We accept most types of waste, but we do not accept Asbestos, Paint, Tyres, Gas Bottles, Fridges, Freezers, and Vehicle Batteries. Please call if you are unsure about any items.

3. Can I have the skip on the road outside of my house?

Yes. We can arrange a Council permit, which costs £20.00. This covers the skip for one week. A permit is required for putting the skip on the grass verge outside of your house, or on the pavement.

4. How much room do I need for delivery of a skip on my driveway?

Your driveway needs to be at least 10ft wide to allow our lorries to deliver & collect skips.

5. How much waste do you recycle?

We aim to recycle as much as 90% of the waste we receive. All waste is sorted upon arrival, and distributed carefully to the appropriate centre.

6. Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash or cheque (payable to "QuickSkip") on delivery. We do not accept credit cards, unfortunately. Trade accounts can be opened.

7. Do you buy scrap metals?

Yes. Please call in to our office, where we will weigh the material and give you the current spot price. We have a 50 ton weighbridge for larger quantities.

8. What do I do when the skip is full?

Simply call our office and we will schedule a collection for you.

9. How much waste can I put in each skip?

The skips safely carry 2, 4, 6 and 8 cubic yards of waste respectively. This equates to 2, 4, 6, or 8 tons of soil. We do not accept skips that are grossly over-filled. Please fill level ONLY. This is for safety and legal reasons.

10. How are construction companies with different types of waste charged?

When you arrive at our weighbridge, or if you have an ongoing skip hire with us, we ensure that you are charged accordingly. If you have a large amount of inert waste, and a small amount of mixed waste, we will charge you the appropriate rates for both.

11. How do I find you?

Please click here for a map and directions to Long Sandall, Doncaster (DN2 4RA).

12. What discounts do you offer for long term hire?

We base each account on its own merit. Either click the Open Account link, or call us for details. We are flexible and negotiable, so please don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like a quote.

13. Can you deliver and collect a skip on the same day?

Due to the large amount of daily collections, we cannot guarantee to pick up skips same day. We try to be as accommodating as possible, and often we can arrange urgent collections where we are able to. Please let us know your requirements when you book the skip, and we will endeavour to meet them.

14. How much is a Council Permit, and how long does it last?

A Council Permit costs £20.00 and is valid for 7 days from the date it was issued.
